Enhancing Motivation for Change
in Substance Abuse Treatment

Motivation is not static. It is dynamic. Specifically, motivation is considered to be related to the probability that a person will enter into, continue, and adhere to a specific change strategy. Different motivational interventions can be used at all stages of the change process. This homestudy course informs readers of the research, results, tools, and assessment instruments related to enhancing client motivation. Included in the course is information on:
